Hi, I'm Sara!
Let me introduce myself!
My name is Sara Haynes, I am therapist providing services for individuals, relationships, and families. My main focus is on communication, intimacy, sex and sexuality. After recently moving back to Canada from almost 20 years living in the United States, I opened my private practice here in Brandon in the Fall of 2019. I am so excited to be offering my services to individuals, families, couples, and those in all types of relationships in the Brandon and Westman area!
A little background about my education and credentials. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with additional focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado in Denver. In the United States, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Counselors. In both Canada and the US I am a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapist (AASECT).
Currently I am the only AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in South Western Manitoba. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist through the Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy (CACFT - formerly CAMFT). I have additional specialized training in the Gottman Method through the Gottman Institute (I currently have all 3 levels of training ) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through ICEEFT. I am a volunteer for several professional committees at local, provincial, and national levels and teach budding marriage and family therapists.
